Powder tank
Powder feeding technology
A powder tank is the source of the product for the powder application process. The tank stores the powder and powder is taken from the tank to be sent into the powder hose.
When the powder arrives from the suppliers, it is compact and very likely to clog when sprayed. It is necessary to turn it into a less, compact material.
The tank is fitted with a bottom made of a porous material. Air is injected in the base plate and "inflates" the powder. The powder then goes from being compact to a fluidized state.
When the powder is fluidized it is much easier to flow and move. It is able to smoothly flow through the hoses and reach the sprayer in a continuous state.
The powder is transported by means of a venturi pump. The flow rate can be adjusted according to needs with additional air called dilution air.
A powder tank is mainly used for medium and large scale productions and is suitable for powders that do not work well with the vibration technique.
